The Lengthy Wait

On a beautiful Wednesday morning,

Feeling super and setting out for a walk,

With no hint or a warning,

Ready for the “talk.”

Over to the regular spot,

Having spent many good times,

He reached their on the dot,

Would she read between the lines?

A confidante for years,

Would their friendship crumble?

Every minute long as an hour,

He better not stumble.

P.S. I thought I would keep the end of the poem open and incomplete. So readers, it is up to to you decide whether she arrived, he spoke his mind, her answer and so on.You can choose the ending or if we could say “a beginning”.
